4th of July Spotlight
Silvercreek Community kids loved rocking out with Games2U!
The 2010 July 4th Celebration was an incredible success with at least 1,000 people participating! This was the second year of the partnership of Silvercreek and Silverlake in making July 4th a special family event close to home.
Silvercreek contributed financially and had residents volunteering to
make sure everything went as well as it did. The Silverlake directors and volunteers started cooking on July 3rd at 6 pm and took the briskets off the pit right before the start of party, and then helped on the serving line. According to Richard Skotak, MUD 6 board member and others it was the best brisket/sauce they ever had. I hope everybody had a chance to have
some of the delicious baking contest offerings. There were awesome vendors from the air conditioned mobile video game vans/trailers, the newly constructed splash pad & kiddie’s pool, to the train rides. The sheriffs that patrol community were there, along with Sheriff Wagner and Captain Foreman, Commissioner Matt Sebesta all supporting our communities.
We all need to express our thanks to all the volunteers who worked in planning this event to making it a great success. It was truly a fun and enjoyable day for all. As always your ideas and comments on how to improve the event for next year are encouraged. This event is but one of many examples of why Silvercreek and Silverlake are great places to live!
